Dem.etria Lucas, ex-editor of mine, current Relationship Editor at Essence and the official Be.lle in Bro.oklyn wrote an open letter to Fan.tasia that summed up my feelings on Fantasia’s emotional well-being better than I could ever dream.
The letter: Brilliant.
The concern: Real.
The push for therapy: Very necessary (for Fant.asia and many other African-Americans)
Please set aside the venom for a woman labeled with a scarlet letter. Nothing anyone does is worth their demise at someone else’s hand…or especially their own.
