Hip Hop Wives and Wifeys

If you enjoy the drama and catfights of VH1’s hit reality TV show, Love & Hip Hop, then Real Wifeys: Get Money may be just the book for you.

Luscious, an ex-stripper, is in love with platinum selling rap star Make$ and the book takes a look at her struggles and frustrations of being the “wifey” of a hip-hop star.  In the first book of the trilogy, Real Wifeys: On The Grind, Make$ is on the road doing it (and Goldie) up big…while Luscious is at home clueless as hell. And that’s where RW: Get Money starts, seeing everything (including the fight scene with Goldie) from Luscious’ point of view.

Like the women on and off the reality show, Luscious had the added dimension of dealing with a dude who is wealthy and famous. Sometimes the life wasn’t what most women imagine it to be outside of the clothes, trips, and red bottoms. There’s a featured article, Love & Hip Hop: Behind the Cameras , over on Necole Bitchie.

For more on the book, please check out the Real Wifeys: Get Money page.

On a side note (for LHH fans like me): I teared up when Chrissy finally got her ring from Jim Jones on the show last night. Congrats to the couple! One of my fave blog sites (Young, Black and Fabulous) has the video of Jim Jones taking the first step to change Chrissy’s title from wifey to wife  if you missed it (or if you can’t wait for VH1 to rerun it forever): http://theybf.com/2012/01/02/in-case-you-missed-it-video-of-chrissy-getting-a-ring-from-jim-jones
